Sal’s Pizzeria is named for Salvatore “Gus” Mancuso, the father of Nancy M. Paterson, and grandfather to John Burns Paterson. Unfortunately J.B. never had the chance to meet Sal as he passed before Nancy married Burns III some 24 years ago. This is our homage to him and all things Italian. Our goal is to provide you with authentic Neapolitan style pizzas. Imagine sitting on the cobble stone streets of Sorrento, the salty air breezes, the smell of fresh lemons is abundant, and the Italians scurry past you in a hurry to go absolutely nowhere. Pizza is a staple in southern Italy, Naples in particular. These pizzas are expressions of what you would find in these areas. The focus is simple: the best product available, prepared with some love, and eaten in a casual fun atmosphere. So that’s what we’ve done. We’ve created Sal’s Pizzeria to offer you the best damn Neapolitan style pizzas showcasing the best produce available from as many local farms and suppliers. We receive many of our cured meats and cheeses from Franco in Atlanta who has them shipped from Italy twice a week..it dsn’t get any better than that! Local farmers supply us with all of our produce, eggs, dairy, and even ice cream! Our dough and sauces are made daily as is our bread and desserts. In addition to our pizzas, salads, paninis, and desserts we hope you’ll enjoy our always changing pasta and “piatti” specials changing daily. You’re sure to leave happy, full, satisfied, and begging for more.
